About the Waterville Area Boys & Girls Club and YMCA:

The Waterville Area Boys & Girls Club and YMCA at the Alfond Youth & Community Center, Waterville, Maine, is a unique organization comprised of three non-profit organizations [IRS 501(C) (3)]: the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Waterville, The Waterville Area YMCA, and the Alfond Youth Center. It serves more than 5,000 youth in Maine through the main facility in Waterville, Camp Tracy in Oakland, Boys & Girls Clubs of Oakland, Boys & Girls Clubs of Augusta and unit sites located in Waterville’s South End, Waterville’s Public Housing Projects, and in Augusta. This is the only merged Boys & Girls Club and YMCA in the country.  The Harold Alfond Foundation was joined by other organizations and individuals who contributed to build the state of the art facility in 1999, on a no-cost, 99 year land lease from the City Of Waterville. The Camp Tracy Campus is the site of the Harold Alfond Fenway Park, a two-thirds scale version of the Boston Red Sox’s Fenway; which hosts youth baseball and softball programs. In addition, the Purnell-Wrigley Field complex in Waterville hosts baseball, softball and other athletic programs.
